It’s Not Your Birthday But… (INYBB) are all about connection through creativity. We run arts programmes and projects that are person-centred with the aim of supporting participants to express themselves in ways that are helpful to them as experts in their own lives. We support personal growth and community building in all the environments we work in which include prisons, probation centres, schools, alternative provision units and other community settings.
As a small core team, INYBB are looking for artists and facilitators based in London/ Greater London to join us on a freelance contract. We expand our team depending on projects and encourage you to contact us if you have experience in or are interested in the work that we do.
Probation Project - Artist Brief
It’s Not Your Birthday But… (INYBB) are looking for artists and facilitators to join us in co-creating large scale mural artworks in Probation Units across London following a successful pilot in 2 London offices. Through trauma-informed practice, INYBB aim to make the spaces less institutional and more representative of the local people and environment by consulting, co-designing and creating murals with people on probation.
The work will take place between February and April 2024 with 14 sites available across London to work at. With a focus on co-creation, we anticipate hiring 5 artists/ facilitators for up to 10 days work each.
Due to the locations of the work, we encourage applications from those local to the following areas:
Responding to feedback from the project’s consultation period, an artwork will be co - designed with people on probation incorporating their thoughts, ideas and when appropriate, artwork.
We are looking for artists who will join the INYBB team to deliver some or all of the following:
Fee: £220 - £250 per day depending on experience. This may include some weekend days.
